Privacy notice
What this site processes, where it runs, and your rights under GDPR and Swiss nDSG.
Data controller
Erik Jaen, Bern, Switzerland — meleaiautomations@gmail.com. I am the data controller for any personal data processed in connection with this site.
Data processed
This site does not set tracking cookies, does not run analytics, does not load tracking pixels, third-party marketing scripts, or fingerprinting. The only personal data processed is your IP address and standard request metadata (timestamp, user-agent, requested URL) recorded in the site's server request logs — see the Hosting section. I use those logs only to run and secure the site.
Cookies and local storage
This site sets no cookies and uses no local storage. The page address alone decides the language (/es for Spanish).
Hosting, server location and sub-processor
The site is served from Google Cloud's europe-west4 region (Eemshaven, Netherlands) via Firebase App Hosting, operated by Google Ireland Ltd and Google LLC. Server request logs are kept in Google Cloud Logging inside my own Google Cloud project and deleted after 30 days (the default). International transfers (e.g. metadata processing in the United States) are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Google's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Legal basis
Server log processing relies on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and Article 31(1) of the Swiss revised Data Protection Act (nDSG) — legitimate interest in operating, securing, and preventing abuse of the website. Email correspondence you initiate is processed on the basis of your initiation of contact (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and my legitimate interest in replying.
Contact
Reach me at meleaiautomations@gmail.com or via LinkedIn for any privacy-related request — including access, rectification, or deletion. Email correspondence is retained as long as necessary to handle the conversation, typically up to 24 months, then deleted.
Your rights (GDPR / nDSG)
Under EU GDPR and the Swiss nDSG you have the right to: access (Art. 15 GDPR / Art. 25 nDSG), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). Send any request to the email above and I will respond within 30 days.
Right to lodge a complaint
If you believe your data has been mishandled, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Switzerland: the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, edoeb.admin.ch). In the EU: your local Data Protection Authority.
Changes to this notice
If this site adds analytics, a contact form, or any other data-collecting feature in the future, this notice will be updated and dated before the change goes live.
